You’ve probably noticed a lack of posts on here….as in I’ve completely stopped blogging, LOL! Not by choice, it’s just hard to find time as a working mom. Enter the idea of “Throw Back Thursday” we’re seeing pop up on … Continue reading
Happy Valentine’s Day from our little guy! Buffer
We have a family tradition of heading to Lake Rudolph in Santa Claus, Indiana for their Halloween Camping weekends. I know it sounds crazy–I really didn’t understand the hype until we finally went. What a blast! We are hooked! Each … Continue reading
Guess what, I opened at Etsy store! It’s called The Creative Erb and features a few of the handmade decor and designs from many of my parties and events. Life’s been busy–way too busy–and sadly I haven’t blogged as much … Continue reading
Easter’s a fun time to spruce up the house after a long winter. Who doesn’t appreciate birds, eggs, and blooms after the snow? I know it’s a little late, but I still wanted to share what Easter looked like in … Continue reading
I. Love. Pinterest. It’s the best time-waster since Facebook was invented. It is a suger-overload of eye candy. And I can only take so much of it before that inspiration needs an outlet. So I’ve been actually trying to complete … Continue reading
Fall decorating comes easy to me because my favorite colors are found in this season. I wanted to add a twist to my normal fall palette, so I made some fabric buntings that blended a sky blue color with traditional … Continue reading
Today I had the pleasure of joining a friend at Harper Valley Farms near Westport, Ind. to pick our own pumpkins, gourds, squash, and mums. What fun! And cheaper than anywhere else! We quickly filled our cart, tugging it through … Continue reading
Saw this on the Echoes of Laughter blog. Angie made it by recycling a holiday Starbucks cup and finishing it with scrapbooking supplies. As she posts:
How to make a Starbucks mini album:
“I love this little project because it costs almost next to nothing to make…..a recycled coffee cup, some scrapbook papers and a few embellishments,” says Angie about this project.
Thanks for the great tutorial Angie!
We had a Cupcake Decorating Party today. Thought it would be a good creative outlet while socializing (and it let me finally use my new Martha Stewart Cake Decorating Kit). We had about 15 gals show up to decorate.
I jazzed up the house by decorating with a cupcake theme. I covered existing hangings with cupcake art I made using scrapbook paper. I made a festive curtain using matching fabric scraps and tied cupcake ornaments to it.
My family helped me bake a bajillion cupcakes ahead of time as well as icing. We laid them out on the tables along with sprinkles so we could get down to business.
You didn’t have to tell this bunch of girls twice to get started!
This is like coloring for adults. Everyone really got into it and enjoyed playing around with different tips.
There was even an attempt at a tie dye cupcake. Pretty neat if you ask me.
Guests took home cupcakes in these cute carriers I found at Big Lots. In the end I think it was kind of therapuetic and a fresh twist on the holiday cookie decorating. Nothing’s better than spending an afternoon with friends than adding cupcakes to the mix!
